Laboratory and Asset Management Office – Future Laboratory Center

4,000+ Teaching PCs LISS Unified Operations Data-Driven Management

Project Overview

Zhejiang Gongshang University operates more than 4,000 teaching PCs. Previously, laboratories were managed separately by individual colleges, resulting in fragmented resources, limited visibility into actual usage, and high operating costs.

The university established the Future Laboratory Center to coordinate laboratory teaching management across departments. OS-EASY deployed LISS to unify endpoint operations, resource analytics, authenticated access, and scheduling collaboration for public experiments, examinations, and competitions.

User Requirements

  • Unified operations: Centralize dispersed laboratory resources and reduce redundant device investment and maintenance costs.

  • Accurate utilization data: Distinguish effective teaching use from sporadic or idle power-on time to support resource decisions.

  • Traceable access: Enable authenticated student logins and retain workstation usage records.

  • Collaborative scheduling: Connect account and timetable data to simplify cross-department scheduling.

Solution

01Unified endpoint operations: LISS clients bring more than 4,000 teaching PCs under one platform for centralized management across colleges.
02Effective-use analytics: A dedicated model applies qualified class-hour assessment, effective terminal-use time, and low-use-day filtering to produce reliable laboratory occupancy and terminal utilization data.
03Authenticated computer access: LISS connects to the university account system to record student login and logout activity and usage duration.
04Cross-department scheduling: Integrated account and timetable data supports public experiments, unplanned examinations, and competitions through one intuitive scheduling process.

Customer Value

Optimized Investment

Centralized operations and evidence-based utilization data reduce redundant procurement and improve the PC-to-user efficiency ratio.

Standardized Management

Authenticated access and traceable records make laboratory use more secure, auditable, and manageable.

Stronger Collaboration

A shared scheduling and data foundation reduces semester-end workload and supports coordinated management by the Future Laboratory Center.
