China Unicom Wuhan Branch

159 Cloud PCs VDI + VOI Architecture 80% Higher Efficiency

Project Overview

China Unicom Wuhan Branch provides mobile communications, IP telephony, internet access, and related terminal services in Hubei. It needed to address dispersed endpoints, difficult incident handling, and complex security requirements across multiple operational settings.

OS-EASY deployed 159 cloud PCs in three phases for the Marketing Service Center, Online Operations Center, and training classroom, creating a unified cloud-based digital workspace for office, self-service, and training scenarios.

User Requirements

  • Centralized operations: Manage terminals in three distributed locations without repeated on-site system and application deployment.

  • Business continuity: Respond quickly to incidents at dispersed service centers without relying on local specialist teams.

  • Reliable voice: Maintain a PC-like calling experience for online operations in a cloud desktop environment.

Solution

01One cloud for three scenarios: VOI desktops support the dispersed Marketing Service Center; VDI desktops provide flexible expansion for the Online Operations Center and standardized training environments for the classroom.
02Remote centralized management: A one-stop platform enables remote system and application deployment and rapid delivery of customized office desktops.
03Voice and data protection: Voice optimization delivers VDI call quality comparable to PCs, with 300–400 ms voice latency. Flexible system and data disk restore policies protect personal data when a system fault occurs.
