Deputy Minister of Education of Ghana Inspects OS-EASY, Reviews UNESCO Ghana Education Project

On November 8, His Excellency Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, Deputy Minister of Education of Ghana, visited the Wuhan headquarters of OS-EASY Computing Co., Ltd. He was warmly received by Xing Taiquan, Director of International Marketing at OS-EASY.

Director Xing Taiquan first expressed gratitude and honor for the visit of Prof. Kingsley Nyarko and provided a detailed introduction to the transformative impact of cloud computing technology on the IT industry, as well as OS-EASY’s extensive involvement in the digital development of education in China and internationally. As a city with 1.3 million university students, Wuhan has seen its educational development contribute significantly to the growth of the city’s new economy.

Deputy Minister Prof. Kingsley Nyarko praised OS-EASY’s contributions to the computer industry, stating: “China’s educational development has not only cultivated a large number of high-caliber researchers but has also demonstrated the tremendous progress achieved through over 40 years of reform and opening-up, facilitating China’s transition from a traditional economy to a new economy. It is truly gratifying to see OS-EASY keeping pace with the times, achieving the top position in China’s higher education market while also supporting the informatization of education in international markets.”

Subsequently, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko and his delegation reviewed the UNESCO Ghana Smart Classroom Project, expressing gratitude to UNESCO and the Chinese Ministry of Education. This project, highly prioritized during the Ghanaian Minister of Education’s visit to UNESCO headquarters in Paris, provides strong support for advancing Ghana’s educational reforms and fostering collaboration within the China-Africa University Alliance.

Africa shares a similar historical starting point with China and urgently needs to establish its own educational and economic systems while expanding new economic industries. China’s educational development experience offers valuable lessons for Africa.

Coinciding with efforts by the Hubei Provincial Government and the Department of Science and Technology to strengthen China-Africa innovation and entrepreneurship, a series of youth awards and technology transfer collaborations have emerged. African universities will actively participate in enhancing independent innovation capabilities and promoting knowledge-based economic transformation. The Ghanaian Ministry of Education will further engage in international cooperation with UNESCO and the Chinese Ministry of Education to advance the China-Africa University Alliance and learn from China’s experience.

Five Major Outcomes Released Globally! OS-EASY Showcases at the 2024 Global Forum on Digital Transformation of Vocational Education (Shenzhen)

On October 22–23, the 2024 Global Forum on Digital Transformation of Vocational Education (Shenzhen) was successfully held at Shenzhen Polytechnic University (hereinafter referred to as “Shenzhen PolyU”). The forum was co-hosted by the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, and Shenzhen PolyU. Nearly 130 representatives from government departments, educational institutions, industries, enterprises, and international organizations across 35 countries attended the forum. Focusing on “Vocational Education Transformation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” participants explored pathways for integrating digital governance in global vocational education with AI technologies, shared best practices in digital capacity building, curriculum reform, and technology-driven school-enterprise collaboration, and collectively advanced the development of a more resilient and dynamic global vocational education system.

As a strategic partner of UNESCO, OS-EASY participated in the forum. Xing Taiquan, Director of International Markets at OS-EASY, delivered a keynote speech, sharing insights on vocational education innovation in digital scenarios, including smart classroom resource libraries, new models for online and offline experimental teaching, and successful overseas case studies.

During the forum, five major outcomes of the UNESCO Chair in Digital Transformation of Technical and Vocational Education (hereinafter referred to as the “Chair”) since its establishment in 2022 were released. These include a global research report on digital transformation in vocational education, teaching standards for 28 specialized fields, curriculum standards for 50 digital technology-related programs, 100 outstanding case studies, and 16 online courses on digital technologies. Yang Xinbin, Chairholder and Party Secretary of Shenzhen PolyU, stated that the Chair would continue to deepen research, promote global digital transformation in vocational education, and enhance youth employability and digital skills.

Keynote Reports and Thematic Discussions: Exploring AI-Driven Pathways for Global Digital Transformation in Vocational Education

During the keynote session, Yang Xinbin, Chairholder and Party Secretary of Shenzhen PolyU, presented on “Digital Transformation of Vocational Education from the Perspective of New Quality Productivity.” He elaborated on the context of vocational education reform in the digital intelligence era, transformation pathways driven by new quality productivity, and Shenzhen PolyU’s digital transformation solutions, offering valuable theories and case studies for global vocational education.

Professor Zhu Zhiting from East China Normal University explored the essence, logic, and opportunities of digital transformation in education, providing methodological insights and strategies for global vocational education systems.

The forum also included visits to Huawei and Shenzhen PolyU for on-site exchanges, broadening participants’ international perspectives. Leading the Digital Transformation of International Higher Education, OS-EASY Wins UNESCO’s “Pioneer Case Award for Digitalization in Higher Education”

Recently, the 2023 International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) Global Partner Summit was held at the Southern University of Science and Technology. The conference, themed “Higher Education Transformation in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” invited global education leaders, policymakers, experts, scholars, enterprises, and other stakeholders in higher education to share and discuss topics such as new opportunities brought by AI to higher education, how AI drives institutional management, expands channels for teacher professional development, and effective governance. Approximately 90 overseas guests from 28 countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Arab region, and Europe, along with over 100 Chinese guests, attended the event. As a strategic partner of UNESCO and an IIOE corporate partner, OS-EASY was invited to participate and received the “Pioneer Case Award for Digitalization in Higher Education” from the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (UNESCO-ICHEI).

The “Pioneer Case Award for Digitalization in Higher Education” (hereinafter referred to as the Pioneer Award) was established by UNESCO-ICHEI to encourage and recognize IIOE global partner institutions for their active exploration, innovation, and practice in the digitalization of higher education. This year’s theme, “Blended Teaching Reform and Innovation in Higher Education,” covered classroom teaching innovation, digital resource development, digital student support, and institutional digital governance and services. The Pioneer Award focuses on discovering localized practical solutions, aiming to harness the global influence of the IIOE partner alliance to lead and promote the digital transformation of higher education in developing countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

 

In recent years, with the rapid development and widespread application of digital technologies, smart campuses have become a prevailing trend for the future of education. As a comprehensive national key university, Sun Yat-sen University partnered with OS-EASY in early 2023 to co-create the “Sun Yat-sen University Digital Twin Hybrid Experimental Teaching Space Project.” Using OhYi’s TSpace for twin labs, the project established a 100-point integrated online-offline experimental environment, achieving deep integration of computer-based experimental teaching with digital twin and cloud desktop technologies. This provides teachers and students with an efficient, innovative, and intelligent digital teaching environment and platform, reshaping student training models and enriching talent cultivation approaches in higher education to establish a cutting-edge teaching mechanism in China. OS-easy collaborates with Chinese and foreign universities to establish school-enterprise cooperation

On the morning of March 27th, representatives from Adigrat University in Ethiopia and OS-easy Group Holding Ltd. visited Hubei University of Technology with the aim of deepening education cooperation and promoting exchanges between China and Africa. Chen Zicai, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the university, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. He first warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his expectations for the prospects of higher education cooperation between the two sides. He pointed out that China Africa cooperation has always been an important strategic direction for our university’s international exchange and cooperation. We are willing to fully leverage our unique advantages in China-Africa industrial innovation and technology transfer cooperation, establish long-term mechanisms with Ethiopian universities in talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and other fields, and jointly contribute to the economic and social development of the two countries.

Zaid Negash Zed, President of Adigrat University in Ethiopia, expressed gratitude for the warm reception of Hubei University of Technology and introduced the school’s advantages in fields such as information technology and engineering education. He emphasized that China’s experience in the development of higher education is worth to learn, hopes to use this visit as an opportunity to promote practical cooperation between the two universities in teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation, talent cultivation, and other aspects.

OS-easy Attends Digital Learning Week to Witness the Global Impact of Chinese Higher Education

The first UNESCO Digital Learning Week officially kicked off at its headquarters in Paris. Adhering to the vision of “promoting education through technology”, focusing on the impact of digital learning platforms and generative artificial intelligence on education. Participants were invited to participate in more than 100 countries from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the United States, including education experts, leaders from the Ministry of Education, educational enterprises, outstanding students, and teacher representatives. A total of two plenary meetings and more than 30 Breakout session sessions were held.

China and Ireland respectively won two UNESCO ICT awards for the educational application of ICT technology, namely UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize. Chen Jie, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China, and Li Ping, Director of the Technology and Resource Development Center of the Ministry of Education, attended the award ceremony and gave important action reports and experience sharing.

Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director General of Education at UNESCO, emphasized that digital learning is a public service that must be built on relevant ethical and professional content. This event will convey this information to governments, teachers, and education stakeholders in various countries to jointly explore digital technology and education. And affirmed China’s strength in educational technology and the achievements of the Chinese government in digital education technology, repeatedly conveying China’s voice.

As a global strategic partner of UNESCO, Oeyun jointly held discussions on the IIOE and Smart Classroom projects at the international online education platform venue. Yu will communicate with the ministers and leaders of education departments in China, Senegal, Ghana, and the Philippines on the construction and development of digital education. We have had in-depth exchanges with representatives from eight member countries of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural, and Higher Education Center, including Nigeria, Mexico, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Uganda, on the digital transformation construction of universities.

OS-easy and the UNESCO Center for Higher Education have reported on their achievements since joining the center. Through the Smart Classroom project, they have promoted the balance of educational informatization in various countries, and through the IIOE project, they have strengthened the digital capabilities of teachers and emerging technologies for learning. Oeyyun continues to support the advancement of digital work in the center for higher education, in coordination with the improvement of the education digital framework. After the meeting, Oeyun and several internationally renowned AI companies, as well as international public welfare funds, exchanged ideas to jointly address the issue of educational equity.

UNESCO ICHEI and OS-easy Established Strategic Cooperation

On April 8, 2023, representatives of UNESCO-ICHEI went to Chongqing to participate in the 58·59th Higher Education Expo China, and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement and smart classroom cooperation agreement with OS-Group holding ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “OS-easy”). Mr. Xue Feng, the chief of IIOE Management Center of UNESCO-ICHEI, and Mr. Zhou Yi, the vice president of OS-easy, attended the signing ceremony. The two sides will cooperate in the field of smart classroom donation, cloud computing certification, course resource sharing, and international affairs expansion, and reach an agreement on smart classroom cooperation among the six Asian and African countries.

The signing ceremony is the result of a series of discussions between both parties. On March 28th, UNESCO-ICHEI delegation visited the new headquarters of OS-easy in Wuhan to gain a detailed understanding of OS-easy’s solutions. They also introduced UNESCO-ICHEI and the Smart Classroom project to OS-easy’s leadership team – Chairman, Mr. Yang Jun, Vice President, Mr.  Zhou Yi, and International Director, Mr. Xing Taiquan.

 

Mr. Yang Jun highly recognizes the mission of UNESCO-ICHEI and is willing to cooperate through various forms to give full play to social value of OS-easy. He stated that the product concept of OS-easy is using digital technology to achieve talents cultivation and exploring social value, and it coincides with the goals of UNESCO-ICHEI. OS-easy focuses on technology application, especially the experimental teaching and learning, to promote the digital transformation in universities. On September 4th, 2023, UNESCO’s inaugural Digital Learning Week officially kicked off at its headquarters in Paris. Under the banner of “Steering technology for education”, Digital Learning Week delves into the transformative influence of digital learning platforms and advancements in AI as part of building a new social contract for education. By focusing on governance, norms, and standards, as well as best practices for pedagogical transformation, it aims to foster inclusive and ethical practices while cultivating collaborative partnerships to achieve greater impacts. The goal of the event is to facilitate the productive exchange of ideas, experiences, and practices to steer and leverage technology for education. OS-EASY was invited to participate in this series of Digital Learning Week activities as a partner of UNESCO.

The Digital Learning Week is the rebranding of the decade-long UNESCO Mobile Learning Week. Since its first inception in 2011, Mobile Learning Week has become UNESCO’s most influential flagship summit in the field of educational information and communication technology. The first “Digital Learning Week” will hold the ‘International Symposium on Digital Learning Platforms’ and the ‘High-Level International Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Education’, examining how both can be steered to reinforce and enrich humanistic education. During this time, it will feature the Award ceremony of the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of ICT in Education with its latest edition focused on the use of public digital learning platforms.The Prize is the highest reward within UNESCO that recognizes innovative approaches in leveraging new technologies to expand educational and lifelong learning opportunities for all, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Goal 4 on education. In 2022, the laureates were “Smart Education of China”, implemented by the National Center for Educational Technology of China,  and “The National Resource Hub“ran by the National Forum for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education of Ireland.

 

Ms.Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education of UNESCO, delivered a speech and highlighted the importance of digital platforms in ensuring educational continuity. Situated in a digital era with the continuous rise of new technologies like generative AI, we are propelled to consider the rational adoption of technology in education and shoulder responsibilities following the principles of “inclusiveness, equity, quality and sharing.”Ms. Giannini added that digital learning should be a public good, and must be ethics-oriented and content-driven. She hoped that this event would deliver this important message to respective governments, teachers, and stakeholders of education, and foster a rich discussion.

OS-EASY Distributed VOI Desktop Cloud (E-VOI) is a new desktop cloud solution with centralized desktop management and distributed computing.
