OS-easy Attends Digital Learning Week to Witness the Global Impact of Chinese Higher Education

The first UNESCO Digital Learning Week officially kicked off at its headquarters in Paris. Adhering to the vision of “promoting education through technology”, focusing on the impact of digital learning platforms and generative artificial intelligence on education. Participants were invited to participate in more than 100 countries from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the United States, including education experts, leaders from the Ministry of Education, educational enterprises, outstanding students, and teacher representatives. A total of two plenary meetings and more than 30 Breakout session sessions were held.

China and Ireland respectively won two UNESCO ICT awards for the educational application of ICT technology, namely UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa Prize. Chen Jie, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China, and Li Ping, Director of the Technology and Resource Development Center of the Ministry of Education, attended the award ceremony and gave important action reports and experience sharing.

Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director General of Education at UNESCO, emphasized that digital learning is a public service that must be built on relevant ethical and professional content. This event will convey this information to governments, teachers, and education stakeholders in various countries to jointly explore digital technology and education. And affirmed China’s strength in educational technology and the achievements of the Chinese government in digital education technology, repeatedly conveying China’s voice.

UNESCO in China has conducted a report on the development and achievements of ICT technology in China with Stefania Giannini.

As a global strategic partner of UNESCO, Oeyun jointly held discussions on the IIOE and Smart Classroom projects at the international online education platform venue. Yu will communicate with the ministers and leaders of education departments in China, Senegal, Ghana, and the Philippines on the construction and development of digital education. We have had in-depth exchanges with representatives from eight member countries of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural, and Higher Education Center, including Nigeria, Mexico, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Uganda, on the digital transformation construction of universities.

OS-easy and the UNESCO Center for Higher Education have reported on their achievements since joining the center. Through the Smart Classroom project, they have promoted the balance of educational informatization in various countries, and through the IIOE project, they have strengthened the digital capabilities of teachers and emerging technologies for learning. Oeyyun continues to support the advancement of digital work in the center for higher education, in coordination with the improvement of the education digital framework. After the meeting, Oeyun and several internationally renowned AI companies, as well as international public welfare funds, exchanged ideas to jointly address the issue of educational equity.
